AWSpress Amazon Plugin

AWSpress is a WordPress Amazon plugin that integrates Amazon Web Services. It provides a complete online store solution which requires no user management. AWSpress supports United States, United Kingdom, German and Japanese Amazon Associate stores.

AWSpress offers bloggers a way to earn additional revenue by complementing their contextual advertising (such as Google AdSense) income. By using this plugin you can link to any of Amazon’s thousands of products on your own site and within your own store to earn commission on every sale.

Features:

  • Quick & easy to setup and use
  • Works with most Wordpress themes
  • Configured for search engine friendliness
  • Full AWS 4.0 support
  • Support for US,UK,DE, and JP

Requirements:

  • WordPress version 1.5 or higher
  • PHP (version 4.2.3 or higher)
  • Mod_rewrite (if using seo mode)

Kudos goes to the writers of ASM2 as their code forms the basis of AWSpress.

AWSpress was developed for personal reasons, but due to popular demand, the code was released to the public. As the popularity of this Amazon WordPress plugin gained momentum, it became impractical to support it through comments on a blog, and the collective development was also hampered without a community. Thus,  it was decided that www.AWSpress.com would be the dedicated site and forum to serve the needs of the AWSpress community.

    Known problems:

    Depending on your version of Wordpress you may experiencethe following php error:

    Warning: extract(): First argument should be an array in /home/yoursite/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2109

    To fix:

    open wp-includes/functions.php
    goto to line number 2109
    you will find something like

    extract($wp_query->query_vars);

    and change it to:

    if (is_array($wp_query->query_vars)) extract($wp_query->query_vars);

    Some WordPress themes will cause problems due to the way they have been programmed. This will be covered in a seperate post. Please let me know which themes work out OK for you, and which give problems. Also, if you make a fix to a theme please send me a copy and I will share it through the site.
